Below are three science news items/facts. Two are real, one is fictitious. See if you can sniff out the fake. Answers below. No cheating!

1. Scientists have developed an implantable pacemaker make from living cells that does not require batteries and therefore never needs to be recharged. 

2. A new study attributes type II diabetes to a sharp decrease in the amount of dietary fiber consumed by humans by analyzing fossilized feces.

3. A new study conducted on sea stars indicate that evolution can create new species in as little as 6,000 years.
